Evan Harris is the author of Prisoners of Promise, a standalone horror novel set in the sun-drenched, sinister beach community of Promise, California. His fiction explores what hides beneath beautiful surfaces — the rot beneath the resort, the threat beneath the familiar.

A career in marketing research gave him a precise understanding of what shapes collective behavior — and a sharp instinct for the outlier. His background in fine arts and a past life as a musician lend both texture and lyricism to his scenes, and three-dimensional empathy to the characters who inhabit them. He enjoys placing characters we can all recognize in situations that reflect the full pressure of the world we live in. He is continually surprised to see how they react.

He is currently at work on The Power Play, a suspense trilogy set in Seattle, following the collision of organized crime, federal law enforcement, and the loyalties that survive both. He lives in Poulsbo, Washington, enjoying time with his wife, sons, and new daughter-in-law, and narrates his own audiobooks.
